2026-2027 NKCPS Sports Physicals Graphic (PNG)

New Kent County Public Schools will host an opportunity for students to get sports physicals at New Kent High School on Monday, May 11th, 2026, from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. NKCPS students who are planning to try out for or participate in New Kent Middle School or New Kent High School sports during the upcoming fall season are reminded that a completed VHSL physical must be on file prior to participation.

  • Date: Saturday, May 11th
  • Time: 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
  • Location: Main entrance of NKHS

This opportunity is open to all NKCPS students. The cost for the physical is $25, payable by cash or check made out to New Kent High School. Students must bring pages 1, 2, 4, and 5 of the VHSL physical form in order to be seen.

The VHSL physical form may be accessed digitally at https://bit.ly/4801B1I. Paper copies are also available outside Mr. Spiak’s office, in the NKMS P.E. hallway, or in the clinics at NKMS and NKHS.

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) will host immunization clinics on Friday, May 8th, 2026, at New Kent Middle School and New Kent High School for current sixth and eleventh grade students to meet upcoming grade-level requirements. Rising seventh grade students may receive required Tdap and Meningococcal (MenACWY) vaccines, with HPV recommended, during the NKMS clinic from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., while rising twelfth grade students may receive the required MenACWY vaccine, with HPV recommended, at the NKHS clinic from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Parents and guardians should review the VDH information letters and submit a completed consent form to the school clinic in advance.

NKCPS Kindergarten Registration

NKCPS Kindergarten enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opens at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026. Children must be five years old by September 30th, 2026, to enroll in Kindergarten. Families must confirm their child's zoned elementary school, complete online enrollment forms, and schedule an in-person registration appointment at their assigned school. The registration dates are April 17th, April 24th, May 1st, May 8th, and May 15th, and rising Kindergarten students must attend with a parent/guardian. Families should bring required age, residency, and health documentation.

Celebrate the Arts Thumbnail

New Kent County Public Schools will host Celebrate the Arts 2026 on Saturday, April 25th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at New Kent High School, offering a free community event showcasing student creativity through theatre and music performances, a curated student art exhibit, and hands‑on craft activities. Elementary families whose children have artwork selected for display will receive a personal invitation from their art teachers. All community members are invited to attend this celebration of student talent and artistic achievement.

The Virginia Department of Education is requesting all parents of children with disabilities receiving special education services to complete the Annual Special Education Parent Involvement Survey for the 2025-2026 school year.

The survey, available in English and Spanish, will remain open through December 11th, 2026.

Parents should complete one survey for each child currently receiving services, with online submission preferred.
